I figure I'd better share about our pumpkin patch trip before October comes to a close!
My brother and sister-in-law (Nick and Gabriele) have had a tradition of going to the same patch -- Joe's Place -- since they started dating. When we had Evan, they "let us" start tagging along.
It's fun (and crazy!) to look back at the past few years' photos & see how much he's grown!
The first year it rained quite a bit... but we were truly there for more of a quick photo op anyway, and to see his reaction to all those round orange things. :)
The second year, he may have been more excited about all the tractors, farm equipment, and hay ride than the pumpkins.
Last year, he was old enough to actually be interested in getting pumpkins, and picked out three small ones which he carted around in his little red wagon. Karl had fun teasing him as we walked through the corn maze, pretending there was a wolf chasing Evan... he loved it too though!
(Those muddy knees are from falling when escaping the "wolf!")
We were blessed with unusually warm weather this year... although you wouldn't know it since he refused to take off his coat. #threenager
This kid loves exploring, so he had lots of fun making his way through the maze again this year. Always up for an adventure! (And he sure loves telling us stories too!)
We told him ahead of time that he could pick any pumpkin, as long as he was able to lift it into his wagon. Well... Daddy caved when Evan requested a much bigger pumpkin, so this was the one that went home.
Wishing you a safe and happy Halloween tomorrow!
